Chloroprene Rubber(CR) is a family of synthetic rubbers that are produced by polymerization of chloroprene.
It has solid rubber and latex form, commonly used as raw material of rubber and adhesive.
Properties
Physical State: White or beige chips, White or milky white latex
Chemical Stability: 1.Excellent resistance to alkali, acids, and some salt solutions, methyl and ethyl alcohols as well as oils, greases. 2.Low oxidation rate, as well as thermal, cold, high sun and ozone resistance
Solubility: It is soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform and benzene, and swells in vegetable oil and mineral oil without dissolving.
Viscosity: Widely range viscosity: 100~10000cps, high initial adhesion strength, fast adhesion, stable final adhesion and long retention time.
Processability: Tensile strength at break within the range 7-19MPa, Elongation at break in the range of 600-800%, long scorching time, high processing safety, easy for plastication and milling.
Film forming: Slow crystallization, easy spraying and film, good flame retardance
Applications
In the adhesive industry as raw materials or as modifiers for adhesives and sealants, CR can give the adhesive more flexible bond lines, better wetting and tackiness, can improve impact resistance or may act as a viscosity modifier and toughener. CR can be used to produce shoe glue, contact adhesive, spray adhesive, which is widely used in shoe industry, fabrication of mattresses, furniture production, construction, automobile decoration,etc
