Properties:It is a kind of organic compound, colorless gas at normal temperature and pressure, toxic, does not burn in the air, boiling point -29.4℃, melting point -153 ℃, density: 1.583g/cm3 (liquid), slightly soluble in ethanol and ether.
Under pressure, hexafluoropropylene can be stored and transported in liquid form without adding stabilizer.
Applications
In the organic fluorine industry, hexafluoropropylene is one of the basic raw materials for the organic fluorine industry. It is second only to tetrafluoroethylene in importance, and is the copolymer monomer of many fluorine-containing copolymers, as well as an intermediate of many fluorine-containing compounds.
In the organic industry, hexafluoropropylene is one of the monomers for the synthesis of fluorine-containing polymer materials (such as fluorine rubber F20-41, F246 and fluorine plastic F46, etc.).
In salt electrolysis, hexafluoropropylene is used in perfluorosulfonic acid ion exchange membranes.
