Ceftiofur HCl is suitable for the treatment of bovine respiratory diseases (transportation fever, pneumonia) caused by Pasteurella hemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida and Haemophilus saccharomyces. It is used during both lactation and non-lactation periods, and is also used Foot rot of cattle. For pigs, it is used to control and treat bacterial pneumonia.

It is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic specially used for veterinary clinics. It has a broad-spectrum and high-efficiency bactericidal effect.
