Gliclazide is a second-generation oral sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agent with a strong effect. Its mechanism is similar to that of Tolbutamide, that is, it selectively acts on Islet B cells, promotes insulin secretion, and increases insulin after eating Glucose. Its effect is more than 10 times stronger than Tolbutamide. In recent years, studies have also found that Gliclazide still has extrapancreatic effects, which enhances the effect of surrounding tissues on insulin.
