Sorbic acid, also known as cool tea acid, 2, 4-adienoic acid, 2-propenyl acrylic acid, is a food additive, yeast, mold and many other fungi have an inhibitory effect.

It is also used for animal feed, cosmetics, medicines, packaging materials and rubber auxiliaries.

White crystalline powder, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and other organic solvents.

Applications

1. Food industry: food preservatives, anti-mildew agents. Widely used in cheese, sour cheese and other cheese products, bread snack products, drinks, fruit juice, jam, pickles, concentrated fruit and vegetable juice, soy sauce, vinegar, hydrogenated vegetable oil, gummy, dried fish products, ready-to-eat bean products, pastry filling, bread, cake, moon cake, wine, fruit wine, collagen casings, preserves, jelly, meat, fish, eggs, poultry products, etc.

2. Feed industry: preservatives, anti-mildew agent.

3. Daily chemical products: preservatives for washing supplies and cosmetics.
